IAN A MORTON
Stand by me
Acrylic on cotton
92 x 122cm
This painting tells the story of two best mates.
They enlisted in the Infantry in Adelaide together.
They had their portrait taken together in uniform.
They went to France together.
The Battle of Bullecourt.
Leo Clifton Morton, my ‘Pop’, was one of them.
They returned to Australia together,
Both missing their left leg.
