Lest we Forget

The image I have painted is of my great nephew, Liam, who lives in Darwin and always attends the dawn service, wearing his great grandfathers medals with pride.  His grandfather, Alan Wharton had a distinguished flying career in the ‘Battle of Britian’.

It is impressive that the younger generation can be conscious of the sacrifice past generations have made for this country, and for the perceived protection of the british empire, as Australian citizens have done in both world wars and other conflicts.
