Real respite for the Australian Light horsemen was a rare occurrence; rather it was a time for of equipment maintenance, care for their horses as they needed recovery time, dealing with the harsh environment and perpetual danger. These down time periods were crucial to mental and physical well-being.
My artwork depicts one of the rare periods of rest, peace and comradery.
